As a gracious Cinco de Mayo present, the steadfast Axtone Records released an extremely diverse package containing a new single from Discopolis titled Falling (Committed to Sparkle Motion), with remixes from Axwell and Dutch duo Dubvision. Axwell’s remix was recently debuted on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show and flicked the hype switch to “on,” being the first production from Axwell since the end of Swedish House Mafia. The Dubvision remix has already made the rounds in the progressive house scene when it was debuted last year and garnered support from numerous top-tier DJs.
Axwell begins his 110bpm rework just like the original does with an easily recognizable guitar line. Before you know it, you’ve been hit with a wall of melodic bliss featuring vocals, wide percussion and synth lines to move mountains. The vocals glide throughout the track, intertwined with arpeggios and fast guitar strumming. This mix is an exciting change of pace for Axwell and demonstrates his infallible versatility as a producer. Dubvision delivers a pounding progressive house mix that was a staple in the sets of Swedish House Mafia during their last tours. The Donnie Darko-inspired original mix by Discopolis is elegant and reminiscent of M83 in style. The composition is filled with beautiful guitar work and piano lines that really set this track apart from the mainstream EDM pack. Pick up the package on Beatport or iTunes today.
