Disco Diaries 80: Curated By The Aston Shuffle
Styalz Fuego x Stuck Note - Wait Up
Tame Impala - Let It Happen (Soulwax Remix)
Chambray - Anew [Ultramajic]
Wax Motif - Krush Groove [Mad Decent]
Anna Lunoe & Chris Lake - Stomper [Ultra]

As I sat here trying to think of a way to thoroughly describe The Aston Shuffle, two words came to mind: consistent quality. The Australian producer/DJ duo landed on our radar with Can’t Stop Now in 2013 and proceeded to make a permanent impression with the chart-topping Tear It Down in 2014. They’ve continued on the uphill climb with several excellent releases this year, including their latest original, the very addictive, appropriately named High With You.

All the while, The Aston Shuffle has hosted the weekly Friday Night Shuffle show on Australia’s Triple J, where they share the latest and greatest in tunes from all over the world. Today, we’ve decided to take a page from the esteemed radio station’s book and invite Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove to take over this week’s Disco Diaries playlist. Cruise through your Monday afternoon with five hand-picked tunes and personal commentary by our friends, The Aston Shuffle.

Styalz Fuego x Stuck Note – Wait Up

This one’s a jam from our homie and collaborator Styalz Fuego and a mystery Lord called Stuck Note. Bit of a banger but so chill at the same time, this one always slays when we play it.

Tame Impala – Let It Happen (Soulwax Remix)

Tame Impala is one of those bands whose albums end up on repeat for me as soon as they come out. I end up listening about 100 times and still can’t tire of it. Soulwax has turned Let It Happen into the ultimate afternoon/sunset pool jam with this remix.

Chambray – Anew [Ultramajic]

We’re huge fans of Jimmy Edgar and his Ultramajic label, and this track is one of their best releases of the year. It’s an absolute club weapon–brings the house down every single time.

Wax Motif – Krush Groove [Mad Decent]

Waxy has been going from strength to strength lately, and this track from his debut Mad Decent EP is such a solid club track. The production is super huge!

Anna Lunoe & Chris Lake – Stomper [Ultra]

Speaking of Aussie homies, Anna Lunoe has been on a massive roll lately and this track with Chris Lake, who we had the pleasure of remixing a while back, lives up to its name and then some!
