Disco Diaries 60: Curated By Jean Tonique

Over the last few years, Jean Tonique has made quite the impression on nu disco lovers all over the globe. From his groovy remixes of Destiny’s Child, Lana Del Rey, Outkast, and more, to his recent You EP released via Yuksek’s Partyfine label, the funk is alive and thriving whenever Jean Tonique is involved.

Naturally, this makes the French producer and multi-instrumentalist the perfect candidate to curate our Disco Diaries series. Start your week off right with Jean Tonique’s top five songs, along with personal commentary on each. If you still can’t get enough, you can catch all his releases via Beatport here.

Benny Sings – Big Brown Eyes [Dox]
This track is one of my favorite songs ever. I love how it combines some sad lyrics, beautiful harmonies, and a really groovy beat. There’s also another version of the song, more acoustic, which is also great!

Towkio – Reflection (prod. by Kaytranada)
Big fan of Kaytranada productions. This one really fits Towkio’s intense vocals.

Ben Khan – Eden [Dirty Hit]
I discovered this guy recently, and saw him live in Paris last month. I’m really into his music; it kind of reminds me of a groovy Jai Paul!

CRIME – Devotion [Monday]
I’ve been playing this track a lot in my DJ sets recently–it’s spreading good vibes all around every time I drop it!

Paradis – Garde Le Pour Toi [Barclay]
I love what Paradis are doing, combining French lyrics and house beats. This one reminds me of last summer; it perfectly fits with nice weather and some good friends around you!
