The Dealer feat. Shells – For A Night [Love & Other]
Within the first ten seconds of this song, it becomes clear that you’re about to undergo an ethereal experience. The Dealer scored one of Dancing Astronaut’s 25 Artists To Watch In 2015, and for quite valid reasons. For A Night along with two remixes are available on iTunes here.
All We Are – Keep Me Alive [Domino]
The SoundCloud genre for this tune, eloquently coined #psychadelicboogie, couldn’t be more accurate. All We Are is a three-part band from Liverpool, and with songs as catchy as this and their Caribou cover, they show tremendous potential for the upcoming year. Catch their debut album here.
George Maple – Talk Talk (Moon Boots Remix) [Future Classic]
Shortly after releasing a killer Reboots Mix, the creator one of LessThan3’s Top Nu Disco Tracks of 2014, Moon Boots, remixed one of our Top Artists To Watch in 2015, the great George Maple. Needless to say, the result fulfilled its destiny of greatness. The Talk Talk remix EP will be available in March 2014, but in the meantime you can snatch George Maple’s premiere record Vacant Space.
Years & Years – Desire (Rainer + Grimm Remix) [Copenhagen/Polydor]
Canadian duo Rainer + Grimm apparently cater to every musical desire, with a recent edit of Jessie Ware’s Desire as well as this remix of Years & Years’ Desire just a couple months prior. Years & Years are undoubtedly one of the top pop/dance acts to emerge in 2014, and with Rainer + Grimm’s knack for incorporating a groovy house/garage spin to the catchiest tunes, this was a match made in Heaven. Cop the Desire remix package here.
Next – Too Close (shmallen Edit)
This next track goes out to all my ’90s babies–the throwback vibes are thriving with this one. Our friend shmallen has added his signature twist to the timeless R&B slow jam, reminding us yet again that he is the ultimate go-to if you’re looking for those baby-making feels. Free download available here.
MIX OF THE WEEK: Tuxedo – Step In The Name Of Love
Although Valentine’s Day is technically over, this recent mix by Tuxedo is definitely the key to keeping the love alive all year round. The duo, comprised of R&B/funk master Mayer Hawthorne and Grammy-nominated hip hop producer Jake One, unleashed this musical aphrodisiac last week, filled with the most sensual beats of the ’80s just in time for the special day. Tuxedo is currently gearing up for the March 3 release of their debut self-titled album, so stay tuned for more funky goodness to come.
