Today’s Disco Diaries playlist comes from a very special curator known by his fans as a seasoned cultivator of groovy vibes. He has produced several of the most contagious, feel-good tunes in the nu disco world. He has even been dubbed the official “Sultan of Summer” as a result.
He is none other than Viceroy, and he has carefully hand-selected five of his favorite tunes along with personal commentary for your listening pleasure. Enjoy!
Basement Jaxx – Never Say Never (Louis La Roche Remix)
I’ve always been a fan of Louis La Roche. When I first heard this remix, it put me in a very reflective mood. I can’t quite describe the feeling, but I think back on all the good times I’ve had over the years when I hear this remix.
The Magician feat. Years & Years – Sunlight (Blonde Remix) [Warner]
I loved the original so much, but Blonde’s take on it just does it for me even more. It brings a big new bass line to the feel-good vibes The Magician created in the original.
Ben Sollee – Letting Go (Thomas Jack Remix)
This new Thomas Jack remix really embodies his great song writing ability and aptitude to create nice builds through a tune. Feel-good vibes all around!
Golden Coast – Dream And An MPC (Televisor Remix)
I just recently discovered Televisor, and I have to say I really dig their sound. This remix is all about the ’80s vibe and has that old school Fred Falke/Gigamesh sound.
Miami Horror – Wild Motion (RAC Mix) [Vitalic Noise]
Nothing makes me happier than when two of my friends come together to create something special, especially when I am a fan of their music. It’s just a solid remix that gets me grooving. Nice job, RAC!
