Brotherly duo Guy and Howard Lawrence responded to recent allegations of copyright infringement today via Facebook, in which they assure that all Disclosure tracks are written by them and their guest vocalists, with credit always given where due.
The controversy arose after a Jan. 17 article in The Daily Mail detailed a lawsuit naming a handful of vocalists on Disclosure songs who allegedly acquired lyrics that were stolen from the original writer and subsequently sold off. The documents reportedly seen by The Mail name AlunaGeorge, Sam Smith, and Eliza Doolittle on their respective Disclosure collabs, in addition to Aluna’s lyrics from the duo’s hit Attracting Flies. No new info has surfaced surrounding the pending legal action at this time.
On a brighter note, the post signs off with the above brief, albeit reassuring update on their sophomore album, which has been in production since September.
