Disclosure’s New Album ‘Caracal’ Gets Teaser Video, Release Date

Wikipedia refers to a caracal as a “medium-sized wild cat that is around 1 metre long.” Disclosure refers to Caracal as the name of their forthcoming sophomore album to be released on Sept. 25 via PMR/Island Records.

The album’s lead single is the just-premeired Holding On featuring Gregory Porter. As well, Caracal will feature young British soul vocalists Kwabs and Nao, plus NYC-based duo Lion Babe. Regarding the album’s title, Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence explains his fascination with the caracal in a statement:

“A caracal is an incredible wild cat that I became fascinated with while on tour last year; I just love the way they look, their physical capabilities and their anonymity. It felt like a perfect fit for our Wild Life brand too, so the Caracal made perfect sense as the lead visual for the new album and over the course of recording, it also felt like a natural title for the new record too.”

Live sets to promote the album have been scheduled for Madison Square Garden on Oct. 24, and the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on Sept. 29. No ticket information has been made available regarding either event. Pre-order Disclosure’s Caracal here, and check out the album teaser video below.
