“Don’t stop now,” ’cause Dirty Vegas’ new single Setting Sun is set to be your new favorite summer anthem, and LessThan3’s got the exclusive first listen of Grum’s (pictured) remix, as well as a look at the Cruisin’ USA-esque music video for the original mix.
Dirty Vegas’ tune is built around a tender pop backbone of acoustic guitar strums and plucky electronics, but the duo doesn’t really reveal its hand until we reach the larger-than-life chorus. Give it a single spin and you’ll quickly understand why every DJ and his mother wants to remix it. For his take, Grum strips away the guitars and the verses, zooming in on those massive vocal hooks and stretching them out to deliver exactly the sort of the sunny, feel-good track you’ve been dying to blast in your car as you and your friends chase that next rush.
And speaking of cars, that urge to take this song with you on your next road trip is no accident–the music video for Dirty Vegas’ gorgeous original track makes that vibe explicit, but the best thing about the arcade-cribbing clip is that you don’t have to keep feeding it quarters to reach the finish line.
We don’t have a release date for Grum’s remix just yet, but Part 1 of Dirty Vegas’ Setting Sun single is out this week via d:vision; stream it on SoundCloud. Check out the official music video for Dirty Vegas’ original mix below:
