Is there anything Diplo can’t do? In the last few weeks, he’s been in the news for a new music video, a five-track collab with Skrillex, and even a production credit on Justin Bieber’s Journals LP. His newest undertaking is a wobbling and weaving remix of one of the biggest hits of last summer, Avicii’s uplifting single You Make Me, from his debut album True.
Enlisting the help of Mad Decent signee Ookay, Diplo turns the radio-friendly original into a tingling twerk anthem thanks to blaring bass, cascading synths, looped vocals, and high-pitched drops. Hypnotizing, infectious, and highly euphoric, the boys from Mad Decent manage to deliver a rousing remix that is both gangsta and yet still open to mainstream play. No release date as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
