Diplo Takes The ‘Long Way Home’
Diplo, Edward Droste, Rostam - Long Way Home

Just when you think that Diplo (pictured) has lost his way down the mainstream, he swims down a shockingly indie path with Edward Droste of Grizzly Bear and Rostam of Vampire Weekend to produce a song like Long Way Home, adding another reason to the long list of reasons why he remains one of the scene’s leading tastemakers.

This is not the first time that Diplo has worked with Vampire Weekend, having had lead singer Ezra Koenig lend his vocals to Major Lazer’s Jessica back in 2013, and with his remix of Will Calls, it’s not the first time he has shown interest in Grizzly Bear’s work either.

Long Way Home is a re-imagination of Ty Dolla $ign’s Stand For and uses Ed Droste’s vocals in place of Ty’s raps. The combination of Rostam’s eclectic production and Droste’s brooding voice along with Diplo’s midas touch make this track instant gold for both an indie and mainstream audience.

There is no further word as to the official release of the track but check back on Diplo’s SoundCloud for more info.
