Dillon Francis Talks Remix Contest, MTV Pilot, And More In Triple J Interview
Dillon Francis - Triple J Interview

Dillon Francis (pictured, left) dropped some big news over the weekend when he stopped by Australia’s Triple J radio station to talk about his Some Chords remix contest, his new Madeon remix, and a possible new TV series for MTV.

Speaking to station host Kyran Wheatley (pictured, right), Francis discussed that he and mau5trap are currently on the search for the “next Madeon” in a new Beatport remix contest of his own remix of deadmau5′ Some Chords.

Ultra wanted to do it [the contest], and I thought it was a cool idea…kind of like the Madeon thing that happened for Pendulum–that’s what we did. Hopefully we find the next Madeon.

Francis then revealed that he is currently working on his own remix of Madeon’s recent single Imperium.

I’m actually doing a remix of that…someday. I’ve started it, but I just haven’t had time to finish it because I haven’t been home in a month.

Although the producer couldn’t give away too much information, Francis closed out the interview with some interesting news about a mysterious pilot that he’s working on for MTV.

I think I can talk about this now…I got a pilot for MTV. So I’m doing a show on MTV that we’re starting to film this year. We’ll see if they accept it, but we’re going to be filming the pilot in January.
