Dillon Francis Says ‘I Can’t Take It,’ Shares New Track
Dillon Francis - I Can't Take It [Columbia]

While he’s no stranger to trap and even various flavors of house as of late, Dillon Francis‘ sonic persona was born from the similarly irreverent and wild-natured school of moombahton, and he revisits his old stomping grounds with I Can’t Take It.

As the third track to surface from his forthcoming Money Sucks, Friends Rule LP, the bouncy, boisterous I Can’t Take It brings Francis back to his roots with an air horn-loving, 110-BPM track and the LP’s first foray into his original flame for moombahton.

Francis told BuzzFeed that the track’s sick-and-tired subject matter was inspired by a combination of incompetence on behalf of employees of Taco Bell on Beverly and something else involving pigeons’ holes.

“This song is about everyone needing to stop pigeonholing producers into one genre,” Francis told BuzzFeed.

“And also about that fucking Taco Bell on Beverly constantly running out of Fire Hot Sauce because I can’t fucking take it no more!”

His frustration comes across, however with his outburst dipped in DGAFOS sauce and delivered with a lighthearted smirk, as we imagine is the case if and when he ever becomes truly angry in person. The peak-moment vocal sample recalls Animals well beyond the point of coincidence and may relate to his “pigeonholing” gripes, although the significance isn’t totally clear.

Pre-order Money Sucks Friends Rule here before it drops Oct. 28, and don’t miss out on his current headlining tour (dates below).

BONUS: Watch Dillon referee a pillow fight between Leighton James of Adventure Club and Drew Taggert of The Chainsmokers, affectionately titled “HOW TO RACK UP $4,000 IN HOTEL DAMAGES.”
