The return of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival was postponed today until 2015 due to setbacks relating to construction and new additions to the festival experience.
Organizers announced that they were forced to cancel this year’s July 4 weekend events and turn their sights on 2015 instead due to unforeseen limitations resulting from M-1 rail construction at the event site and new developments to the festival itself which require more preparation.
Not to be confused with Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival (MEMF) going on as planned in Hart Plaza Memorial Day weekend, DEMF and the affiliated tech exposition event Federation of Electronic Music Technology (FEMT) will return with full force July 4 weekend 2015 in Campus Martius Park adjacent Ford Field. Refunds or replacements in the form of tickets to 2015 are available now by contacting Ford Field. Those who have already purchased tickets are encouraged to also message the FEMT Facebook page for a gift in appreciation of loyalty.
