I have to admit that I’m a sucker for any song that has a solid bassline, and I think I’ve found the guy that is going to hit me with just that every time: Kanji Kinetic. He works beats so furiously that they literally melt speakers.
Tackling Sissy Nobby’s Lay Me Down, Kanji Kinetic gave his remix everything he’s got, creating a definite dancefloor hit. The beginning starts at an easy pace, but a slow build-up leads up to one of the nastiest drops I’ve heard all summer. Wobbles and synth are aplenty and add flair to an already outrageous song. The best way to describe this fresh EDM sound is something along the lines of “grimy Armin electro”. I know that sounds idiotic, but really… just give it a listen.
I’m looking forward to hearing Kanji Kinetic’s upcoming remixes he currently has in the works. The UK-based DJ innovates rather than imitates and is not likely to disappoint any time soon.
