One great thing about Depeche Mode’s new album release and current world tour is the numerous remixes we’ll be hearing throughout the year. Their newest single, Soothe My Soul, was released on Columbia Records with four different versions, each with their own set of tracks and remixes. The most intriguing release is perhaps the one which includes only two tracks: Soothe My Soul and Goodbye (Gesaffelstein Remix). Why? Well for starters, this is the only release in the bunch that includes any track that isn’t a remix of Soothe My Soul. Furthermore, it gives the listener a chance to get a taste of Depeche Mode’s current sound, but then shifts the focus to Gesaffelstein, a producer with a very fresh take on electronic music.
Just listen to the clean precision of the the drum as it beats steadily alongside the voices of Dave Gahan and Martin Gore. There’s so much attitude, so many emotions emanating from the cracks, like those infinitesimal bits of silence that hold you on the edge of your seat. What a perfect sound to go with Depeche Mode’s latest single, thanks to one of Bromance Records’ biggest names. This one’s not too tough to find; Amazon might be able to help you out.
