The notorious tech maestros W&W just don’t take a break, do they? Whether it’s broadcasting their Mainstage podcast or cranking out big room monsters in the studio like Mainstage, AK-47, and Arena, the guys have today’s sound of tech down to an art. This fall, the duo made up of Wardt van der Harst & Willem van Hanegem went to the next level and proudly delivered their artist album Impact on Armada. Igniting the piece to my surprise with wobbly complextro, their amusingly named intro track Do Not Skip enthusiastically shows off their taste for new styles and experimentation. The release includes some vocal tunes too, including the dark vocal hit Three O’Clock, featuring vocals by Ana Criado.
Including not just originals, the second disc delivers remixes by some of the industry’s most inspiring tech trance artists, including Erick Strong, Marc Simz, and Ummet Ozcan. Knowing well to also invite the Welsh duo Taylor & Close, the two took the W&W classic Dome to new heights with their own pulverizing rendition.
