The man behind the mau5 known on SoundCloud as fuckmylife has obviously been quite busy in the studio, sharing four previews of new material via his page over the last two days.
Among these, deadmau5 shared two crumbs of a collaboration with Kill The Noise last night, showcasing what he and the OWSLA bass specialist have apparently been toying with together.
Killthemau5 opens with an atmospheric arrangement of strings and arpeggios sounding suspiciously identical to a different teaser released just hours before, titled Suite 03. However, the soothing sounds of the intro give way to a stomping half-time beat with abrasive synth stabs sounding much more characteristically KTN.
“a collab between myself and killthenoise… i’ve bastardized it a bit. but ill pass it back to jake and see whats up.”
Just hours later, the mau5 posted another slice of the collab, Killthemau5 moar, this time without the smooth intro but “now with 106% more snare.”
These two previews came on the heels of two other posts by deadmau5, including Monophobia, a tech house tune that takes listeners back to his earlier days, and Suite 03, which sounds like it was made to be the intro to Killthemau5, on which he commented, “3rd meldodic suite of the day. drop not included.”
It’s safe to assume that Killthemau5 will be seeing an official release eventually in one form or another, wether on a joint EP or on one of deadmau5′ forthcoming studio albums.
