If you’re a fan of supercars, you might have recoiled in horror when you saw what deadmau5 did to his Ferrari 458. Coating the stunning Pininfarina styling in a paint job inspired by a terrifying-yet-addictive meme was trolling at its finest, and now Joel is set to take the finished product on a 3000-mile international journey as part of the legendary Gumball 3000.
This year’s rally kicks off in Miami on June 4 with a DJ set from deadmau5 himself, before the multimillion-dollar pack heads up to New York to complete the US leg of the trip. The 120 cars and their smattering of celebrity drivers will then be shipped to London’s Regent Street before they make their way south to the finish line in Ibiza on June 11.
Like the majority of musicians who take part in the Gumball, Joel’s talents clearly lie in the studio–the guy hits the Billboard 100 more often than he hits an apex–but when it comes to improving the profile of the rally, there’s no one better suited than the Mau5.
