“We’ll pussy-foot it… It’s OK, we’re gonna go really slow around so we can talk.”
deadmau5 and Daler Mehndi go Tunak Tunak too damn fast in the latest episode of Coffee Run in which there might not be coffee, but there are incredibly high speeds in a Lamborghini. After having developed a bit of a bromance over Twitter, Joel Zimmerman (deadmau5) and Indian bhangra star Daler Mehndi finally get to meet in person and discuss Indian culture while traveling 200 mph down a Formula 1 track.
The two bonded over social media during deadmau5′ tour of India and agreed to pursue some kind of collaboration, the result of which is likely a remix of Mehndi’s ’98 hit Tunak Tunak Tun
Which he played out during his tour stop in Mumbai March 14.
And thank you @dalermehndi for joining me onstage!! You're an awesome dude!— deadmau5 (@deadmau5) March 16, 2014
For background, here’s how they broke the ice:
Hey, @dalermehndi come to my show at sunburn. Let's cause some shit.— deadmau5 (@deadmau5) February 27, 2014
Hi. Got ur message. Pleased to learn that u have massive fan following. Have been busy with shows back to back.— Daler Mehndi (@dalermehndi) February 28, 2014
At this point, it seems as if Mehndi took a second to see what ‘ol Google had to say about this deadmau5 character…
Cute, huh? Anyway, in other mau5 news, Richie Hawtin released the mix the two did B2B at SXSW in 2013 to SoundCloud. Hawtin gives credit to deadmau5′ techno-focused testpilot alter-ego in the title, who recently released his debut single on Hawtin’s Plus 8 Records. Listen above.
