David Guetta uploaded the video for One Voice featuring Mikky Ekko today, the product of his collaborative effort with the United Nations and their #TheWorldNeedsMore campaign.
The video, with its juxtaposed images of some of the most–and least–privileged people on the planet, imparts a chilling, borderline guilty feeling at first, but once settled, serves as a reminder: this culture, this powerful music we all love so much, can do some amazing things when focused properly.
The video premiered at a live UN charity event Nov. 22 as a larger effort to fund humanitarian efforts, specifically in the Philippines and the aftermath of Taiphoon Haiyan. The concept of the campaign was built around the “#TheWorldNeedsMore…” hashtag, with fans encouraged to insert their pick for what it needs more of at the end of the tag. The world needs more of a bunch of things, but a socially aware humanitarian campaign and music video is a solid start, and in our opinion, the world could definitely use more globally conscious musicians.
