Like most of dubstep coming out of North America today, Datsik’s dancefloor killers are continuously climbing the destructiveness ladder. The Canadian is out with his newest 2011 release from Rottun Recordings–Excision’s label–and it’s definitely the Datsik dubstep we know and love.
Firepower is a track of unrelenting vocals and massive noise. Datsik’s trademark sound is just that; audacious, wild and utterly ridiculous. I actually prefer the Levela remix from the release, which cracks up the original with a bit of drumstep kick. Flip over to Domino for a little bit of Datsik’s subtle side; steady wobbles interlaced with climbing chords and orchestral samples make for a dark dubstep march.
For the past year, the 21-year-old from British Columbia has been cranking out bomb after dubby bomb. Often collaborating with fellow Rottun heavyweight Excision, his cosmic grime sound has permeated through every top dubstep DJ’s set. Keep an ear out for those heavy Datsik noises when you’re out getting filthy to live dubstep.
