The duo made the announcement via Facebook–saying that their final show will take place Sept. 12 at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple. As a going away present, Jaar and Harrington also released a pair of bonus tracks from their lone album, Psychic. The first track, What They Say, is a meticulously mixed batch of flickering synth patterns held up by a monolithic backdrop of spacey drum installations and intergalactic beats. The second track, Gone Too Soon, is an aptly titled, finger-snapping groove that features a chilling mix of vocals from Jaar and a funk-fueled guitar lick from Harrington. Farewell DARKSIDE. You will be missed.
You can still grab DARKSIDE’s debut album, Psychic, over on Beatport here. According to Jaar, both What They Say and Gone Too Soon will be released on the upcoming WORK compilation from his Other People label. The album is set to be released Sept. 29 and will also feature new solo material from Jaar.
