Not much is known about Dark Sky, an up-and-coming bass trio hailing from London. After a string of experimental and critically acclaimed remixes and originals like the upbeat Totem off of their Black Rainbows EP, Dark Sky is back with a new EP entitled Myriam, due out on 50 Weapons on December 7th.
Myriam is dark, distant and more tech-oriented than the trio’s earlier releases. The album starts off with Shutter Speed, a slow moving rollercoaster ride and testament to the most experimental of house music. Hequon’s tightly coiled synth work rings out atop of minimalist drums while Shades is dark dancefloor killer. Gaddagive is an equally odd twist to end the record, sounding like TNGHT’s Bugg’n if it were stripped down and set to evolve into a funky syncopation.
