Hello, and happy Monday to all you weekend warriors returning from your wild stints in Vegas. Before you start complaining about your headache or whatever it is and ask to go home, let us help you kill some time while you’re still on the clock. We’ve got new tunes from Paul Van Dyk and Arty, a new video from Disclosure, and more in today’s Newsbyte. Happy recovering!
Arty Returns With A Grand Finale
Despite the name of his latest tune, Russian sensation Arty is just getting his increasingly illustrious career started and hopefully won’t need a real “finale” for some time to come. The 23-year-old is back today with another uplifting, piano-laden prog house tune in Grand Finale, featuring Fiora on vocals. For his first solo production since the smash hit Together We Are, Arty rocks an elongated buildup cradling Fiora’s emotional lyrics and leads into a big-bodied drop. The full-length version is “coming soon,” so check back… soon.
Come One, Come All
The line to get into “club EDM” is getting longer by the day. According to an interview with Rolling Stone, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler expressed interest in following established greats like Paul McCartney in experimenting with electronic music producers on his forthcoming solo album. The 40-year lead singer told RS that Skrillex tops his collab list, and he also had dinner with deadmau5 recently, who reportedly “blew him away.” Stay tuned for more updates on the possibility of Aero-skrill or 5teven Tyl3r… or whatever.
Sultan, Ned, And Fedde Are Good For Us
Fedde Le Grand teamed up with Sultan & Ned Shepard again for a giant piece of progressive house built for blasting main stages all summer long. No Good builds tension with some slowly escalating synth work that drops out into a Dutch-flavored main section. The vocal sample and namesake for the track takes center stage midway through, before a breakbeat-esque alternate section joins the lead synth in the background as the tune climbs for drop number two–highly satisfying. Pick it up here.
PVD Premieres New Festival Anthem
As the first look into his highly anticipated Politics Of Dancing 3 album, Paul Van Dyk linked up with fellow trance titan Arnej for We Are One 2013, a massive trance tune with a dark bassline and a very anthemic feel. Conveniently too, considering this is also the official anthem for the WE ARE ONE Festival in Berlin, at which the two will be performing July 6. Pick up the tune here, and if you happen to be in Germany in early July, stop by to hear it in action.
Disclosure Made A F(ilm) For You
Guy and Howard Lawrence of Disclosure released a classically styled music video yesterday, featuring the duo performing F For You, the latest single off their smash album Settle. The video strays from their signature narrative-style of videos full of drama and interesting characters, opting for a more traditional empty-room set with modest lighting effects and plenty of footage of the brothers doing their thing. The decision to go more minimal with this one offers fans the opportunity to see Howard Lawrence churning out the smooth vocals featured in the track. Watch the vid below, and pick up Settle here.
