EDM Gets Down To Bizness

The annual EDMbiz conference in Las Vegas kicks off today at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, featuring the best and brightest minds in the electronic music industry. Among the staggering list of speakers involved, attendees can look forward to hearing tastemakers like Pete Tong and Jason Bentley, premier promoters like Gary Richards and Pasquale Rotella, tech innovators like Matthew Adell and our very own Ari Evans, and influential artists like Tommie Sunshine and Dash Berlin, with the latter kicking off the week’s performances at Lavo.

A lot can go down with all of these minds in one place, so check back for updates on developments from EDMbiz.

The Legion Approaches

In an era of massive collaborations, it’s no surprise to see Dutch bass music trio NOISIA teaming up with British hip hop and dubstep group Foreign Beggars. The resulting outfit, dubbed I Am Legion, released their first collab track today, titled Make Those Move. Reportedly five years in the making, the debut sound from the bass music bloc is a grimy, grinding piece of 108 mooombahcore with classic vocal work from Foreign Beggars. Make Those Move will be released worldwide July 15 via Noisia’s Division Recordings, Foreign Beggars’ new label Par Excellence, and OWSLA in the States, with a full album set to follow in September. Check out their tour dates below, and pick up tickets here.

Pryda Shows Off His Rotonda

Hot off the release of Layers yesterday, Pryda is back with another preview of his powerful and uplfting brand of prog house. Titled Rotonda, the newest shares similar string elements with Layers, but offers a decidedly deeper and heavier drop than the previous release. Overall, this is turning out to be quite the cohesive stream of tunes from Pryda as he prepares his arsenal for his summer stroll from festival to festival. Rotonda is officially out June 24.

Bueller VIP? Ohhhh Yeeeaahhh….

Bueller VIP

After last year’s trap homage to one of the ’80s’ best flicks, Diplo, ETC!ETC!, and Brillz went back into the guts of Bueller to re-work the slacker tribute into a rugged new VIP.

“So brillz x diplo and myself decided to do a vip of our tune ‘bueller’…” ETC!ETC! said of the tune, “…just re arragned some stuff and tried to make it a little different than the original. If you dont like it, you down have to download it :) feel free to share x blog x love x hate”

The track shares all the swagger of the first two versions released in ’12, however omitting any top-line vocals while retaining that notorious sample that nobody knew was tailor-made for trap until these three got creative together.
The tune is available for free to Mad Decent Premium members now. If you’re not a member, you can wait “a few weeks” and pick it up for free via MD/Jeffree’s.

Your Twerking Vid Has Been Destroid

Destroid has landed, and apparently they’re not here to f*ck around with twerking and booty music. What opens like a Major Lazer fan video takes a startling turn toward sci-fi horror when an extraterrestrial object smashes into the street outside the window of two girls working on their booty clappin’. The handheld camera angle and creepy digital effects amplify the suspense while watching the three armor-clad figures descend from their space vessel via a throwback retractable walkway. However, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know what’s about to happen. Sadly, those girls have been Destroid.
