Paul McCartney Finds A Dark New Dr. Robert
Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo aka The Bloody Beetroots said he had a huge announcement coming, and he wasn’t kidding.
The masked man has teamed up with one of the most influential music figures of the last century, Sir Paul McCartney, on his latest track, Out Of Sight. The tune is set for release June 18 and features Martin “Youth” Glover, the bassist for Killing Joke and the other half of McCartney’s electronic outfit, The Fireman. Sir Bob had this to say:
I’m really proud to have had the chance to work with such a legendary figure. The song was created by Paul McCartney Martin ‘Youth’ Glover and myself. I was impressed by the creative energy in the room when you get three musicians from three different generations vibing together in the studio.
The preview, seen below, offers much to be desired, but does share a crumb of what’s to come in terms of beat and vocals, showcasing McCartney’s distinguished voice and a pounding drum beat, but not much else. Hear the full version over at Rolling Stone June 14 when they plan to premiere the tune.
Justin Martin And Eats Everything Show Off Their Gettup
Dirtybirds Eats Everything and Justin Martin released their collaboration today, titled The Gettup.
The track is nearly eight minutes of tech house titillation from two of the best in the game today. Laced with deep tones and an infectious groove, this collaboration is one that will see fans begging for more family-style production from the dirtybird crew for a long time to come.
Kavinsky’s dark and epic tune Odd Look was given a double-take Friday by none other than A-Trak.
Mr. Macklovitch mutated the original into a massive moombahton jam while retaining all the dark characteristics of the original, including the deep basslines and chilling background samples. The track will be a part of the Odd Look EP from Kavinsky, which will be “out soon” on Record Makers.
Kaskade Shares A Taste Of The Atmosphere
For his first full-length in roughly two years, Kaskade has released the namesake tune of his forthcoming Atmosphere today.
The progressive tune boasts signature Kaskade piano work and soothing vocals from “Ryan Raddon,” aka Kaskade himself. Who knew he had pipes like that? Pick it up on Beatport here, and stay tuned for the release of the full album in September.
Axwell Leads Fans To The Center Of The Universe
Axwell released the video for the remode version of his 2010 track Center Of The Universe today, featuring three fans with a combined zero day jobs in pursuit of a fascinating sound.
The video opens with a young man on a roof who hears a song that intrigues him. After hunting down the source and being confused by self-playing pianos for the first time, he encounters a young man, who joins his quest to, uh… party in the middle of the day?
After a stop at a gas station and some obligatory Carlsberg product placement, the two are joined in their hunt by a young woman, who aids them in chasing Axwell in his cameo down an alley and into an empty club, which is blasting… yep, you guessed it, Center Of The Universe. Watch the full video below, and pick up the track here.
