Ibiza is so ingrained in EDM culture, a mere mention can conjure up images: sunsets from San Antonio, the mysterious rocks of Es Verda, or a packed dancefloor being hit with a dry ice cannon. The latter is synonymous with Amnesia, and for nearly two decades it’s been the home of one of the island’s most popular nights, Cream. 2013 is no exception as Cream has announced its return to its traditional Thursday night slot.
Opening on June 13th is Cream veteran Paul van Dyk and his Politics Of Dancing brand which runs for eight dates across the summer. If one legend wasn’t enough, the first night of the season will see a special one-off appearance from one of the men who started it all in the late 80s, Paul Oakenfold, with what will surely be one of the performances of the summer. Above & Beyond and their Anjunabeats cohorts take over the club for six dates, with appearances from Mat Zo, Arty, and Norin & Rad. All aspects of trance are well covered, with regular appearances from Gareth Emery, Giuseppe Ottaviani, John O’Callaghan, Ben Gold, and Gareth Wyn.
But while Cream Ibiza is all about trance, progressive house fans are also well catered for in the famous terrace, once again hosted by Mixmag and Laidback Luke’s SuperYou&Me brand. This year features some of the biggest names you could ask for–Calvin Harris, Alesso, Nicky Romero, Hardwell, and of course, Luke himself.
Check out Cream’s Ibiza Facebook page for full listings, and if you’re planning your Ibiza trip now, you can even book tickets for the upcoming parties online. One thing is for sure, if you’re heading to the White Isle any time over the summer, this is a night you cannot miss.
