As his first original single since February, Clockwork dropped Blitz on fans yesterday via SoundCloud, feeding them the fat electro synth and percussion work he’s had them addicted to for the few short years he’s been on the scene.
A big and bold electro house jam, Blitz serves as a more-than-fine sequel to last winter’s Surge. The springy lead and powerful drums do justice to the big room vibes and reputation he’s known for while pushing the envelope and not conforming to the endless waves of music of similar vein. His productions always seem to attain an immediate sense of gravity while simultaneously packing an extremely minimal amount of cheese, and in a big room electro environment whose originality sometimes rings hollow, we thank Clockwork for his continued efforts at an intersection of quality and innovation.
Blitz hits digital shelves Nov. 1 on Dim Mak.
