Chromeo Gets ‘Jealous’

Ladies, rejoice. Chromeo is here to admit what we already know–even the most macho of men can’t escape the sting of jealousy. The unstoppable groove masters are back this week with Jealous (I Ain’t With It), another funky-fresh new release from their hotly anticipated album White Women that offers a frank portrayal of a green-eyed fella.

The track, co-produced by disco fiends Oliver, offers more of an easy synthpop feel than previous releases Come Alive and Sexy Socialite, but the Canadian duo’s unmistakable funky sound shines through thanks to a super smooth beat and seriously psychedelic chords. Like most Chromeo jams, the song playfully centers around the emotions of love. Chromeo’s David Macklovitch told Rolling Stone:

“Guys are all schmucks, let’s face it. I don’t know why music constantly extols this fictitious macho fantasy persona–we’re all just puny insecure oversize children. And it would be funnier to embrace it.”

White Women is due out May 12 and can be preordered on iTunes. Until then, find the track and more from Chromeo on SoundCloud.
