The legend that is Carl Cox is about to embark on quite an emotional year as he takes up his last-ever residency at Space Ibiza. But before he hits the White Isle for one final summer to remember, he’s set to play a venue that is somewhat more stately. On May 11, Cox will hit the decks at The Houses Of Parliament–home of the British government, and for one day only, some tasty house beats.
The event is being organised by the Last Night A DJ Saved My Life Foundation, a charity that uses the power of dance music to raise money for children in conflict and war zones around the world. The House The House event will take place in the House Of Commons–the lower of the two British parliament houses, but the one where the ruling government sits–and Carl won’t be alone in bringing some pounding rhythms to the most hallowed place in British politics.
Supporting him will be the winner of the LNADJ competition, open to all UK residents between the ages of 14 and 24. So if you think you’re up to the challenge of warming up for Cox, you simply need to upload a mix of your chosen style to Mixcloud, and do your bit for the cause by raising £50 for the foundation.
