Lavo Las Vegas has recently opened a New York branch of its nightclub, and we here at LessThan3 couldn’t be more thrilled. New York EDM fans have been asking for a good alternative to the sometimes overly-crowded Pacha for quite some time now, and it looks like our wish has been granted. With two gorgeous bars and a sunken dancefloor surrounded by reservation-only tables that are surely raking in the dough, Lavo is giving new meaning to what it means to party in Manhattan. Having already hosted acts like Tiesto and Chuckie and having received endorsements from the likes of Erick Morillo, who called it “the best-sounding small club in the US,” this venue has certainly started off with a bang. Be advised though–the throngs of people wanting to get in on the action can make it a bit difficult for you to gain entrance, so if you aren’t forking over the cash to reserve a table, I would suggest getting there as early as possible.
Last night, Melodicity and I had the pleasure of attending Lavo for the first time, and oh, what a night it was. Calvin Harris was gracing the decks last night with a bit of a contemporary/electro house lean, and the crowd went absolutely wild for him. It was so refreshing to see a crowd of New Yorkers who I normally haven’t seen in my EDM escapades around the city going crazy for the thump. Perhaps the most exciting moment of the night, though, was when Tiesto walked onstage and chilled with Calvin. No big deal.
Expect to see the LessThan3 crew at Lavo NY many times in the months and years to come.
