Beat Service is one of those names you see pop up in a compilation here and there, but otherwise people don’t know much about him. The man behind the moniker is Madis Sillamo, an Estonian trance producer with musical roots as a punk-rock drummer. Always intrigued by dance music, he began to work on his own productions with the help of fellow Estonian trance artist DNS Project. They are both from the same town of Parnu–probably not a coincidence. After several high-profile features with different studio compilations over the past couple of years, Beat Service seems to be ready to come out on his own.
For one, years of production refinement have clearly paid off. His newest work is a major double-sided release off Coldharbour Recordings. Outsider was first showcased on Markus Schulz’ Prague ’11, and has received strong support within the trance community since. With a massive tech sound, and a penchant for dark and haunting melody, it’s no wonder why Schulz loves this guy. Charged, the second track off the release, is a slightly “lighter” track but displays a similar level of awesome techy energy.
