Back in June we took a quick look at some of the UK’s freshest talent in relative newcomer BURNS. In the past, his tracks have always teetered on a massively fun retro sound with undeniably awesome melodies and riffs. With that being said, his newest release takes a step back from the nu-disco perspective, showing off BURNS’ take at some synth-driven big room house.
Fresh off the press from Deconstruction Records, BURNS’ new track Midknight is one of the biggest big-room tracks I’ve ever heard. The melody, while still catchy as all hell (especially after the track finally drops), is a bit menacing, but really fits all too well when you hear the chunked out tribal-infused beat that it accompanies. This track has already garnered attention from the likes of A-Trak, Calvin Harris, and the Ed Banger crew for all the right reasons.
Big room house has been completely dominating since the release of Swedish House Mafia’s 2010 single One. Everybody is trying to bring their own sound or style to the crowd-pleasing tracks, but few have done it so massively and uniquely as BURNS did in this latest release. I don’t care what genre this guy’s next release falls into–sign me up!
