Boys Noize and Pilo deliver a massive number they’re calling Cerebral, which is taken from Boys Noize’s forthcoming album using only analog equipment, Strictly Raw Vol. 1.
Ever since a snippet of Cerebral graced the HARD Summer trailer, we’ve been hungry to hear the full-length final product. Delivered simply with the SoundCloud tag #strictlyraw, this track plunges into mind-bending bass and synth work that Boys Noize and Pilo created with a single drum machine and a couple synths.
The Strictly Raw Vol. 1 album will be a collection of Boys Noize originals along with an impressive roster of collaborations, and all the productions are centered around a minimal equipment concept.
“The idea of the Strictly Raw Vol 1 release is to take one drum machine and one or two synths and make a track with it,” Boys Noize said. Over the last years friends came in and out of my studio and sometimes we end up jamming on my machines. Since it’s #BNR10YR I wanted to collect the good ones and put them all together and there is some serious magic going on.”
BN has also recently released 100, a new collaboration with Tiga, who is set to feature on the album. On the track, Tiga’s clever vocal hooks pair perfectly with the retro acid effects that both producers seem to favor in most of their contemporary productions.
Strictly Raw Vol 1 is not set for release until May 29 but you can salivate over the tracklist below until then.
