New York’s Antranig has been floating around the tech house scene for over a decade now, but he’s been coming back full force lately with a string of monster tribal-influenced releases that are sure to put him back on the map with a vengeance.
I first heard new single Back That Up on longtime supporter Erick Morillo’s recent Pacha NYC podcast episode and was instantly blown away by how it distinguished itself from the other records around it. The track is also quite the booty-shaker. The addition of techy synth bends also adds a unique touch to the track and the genre of tech house in general. Won’t Stop Rocking is a track in a similar vein to that of Back That Up, and was a huge hit for newly revived label Sondos in 2010.
The final Antranig track on this post is the also newly released remix of Full Circle. This one takes a slightly more big-room route and adds a rock-influenced vocal, but still maintains the techier, syncopated feel that Antranig fans go crazy over. Put on your dancing shoes when you listen to these tracks. You’re gonna need them.
