A tucked-away printing studio in San Francisco’s SoMa district got a taste of Boiler Room magic July 17, and the entire world got to be a part of it. Playing back-to-back sets to an intimate crowd, Giraffage and Les Sins created a serious dance party that was broadcast worldwide on boilerroom.tv.
After local artist Teeko warmed up the room, Bay Area native Charlie “Giraffage” Yin took over for an hour-long set full of his signature dreamy, synth-heavy beats. Playing several of his own tracks as well as remixes of everyone from Justin Bieber to Alice DeeJay, the Fool’s Gold prodigy transformed the open studio into a pseudo club. The lucky attendees, sipping drinks courtesy of event sponsor Skyy Vodka, got their groove on surrounded by the space’s quirky decor of potted plants and deer head wall mounts. Les Sins, better known as Toro y Moi, closed out the night with a super smooth, chilled-out set featuring lots of indie and experimental vibes.
