Everyone’s favorite masked electro virtuosos are back with a vengeance with their latest release, Rocksteady. While you may have heard the original already, odds are you haven’t heard the ridiculously bangin’ remixes that accompany it. I’m talking about remixes from the likes of Dem Slackers and Gigi Barocco. If you thought the original was hard, then you best strap up starting now.
You can probably tell from the music video (below) that the Beetroots wanted their remixers to work on the harder side with this one. After hearing these takes on Rocksteady, I think that mission has been accomplished. Dem Slackers start off their remix rather melodically, then switch things up with one of the most insane drops I’ve heard in a while. They keep things interesting by switching things to a sub-level vibe halfway through and building things up rather slowly–all back to the same wicked drop. Gigi Barocco’s remix is just plain nuts. Summer is the season of electro for me, and this remix sets it off right for me. The non-stop bangin’ electro riffs in this song are perfect for any venue–be it a spectacular outdoor festival or crowded club.
