Feeling Good is more than just a song; it’s a way of life. Jay-Z & Kanye West sampled it on the Watch The Throne track New Day, and so did Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana’s Birds Flying High and Mary J. Blige’s About You. Muse covered it, and so did John Mayer. Bottom line, Nina Simone’s 1965 song is unforgettable and iconic. That being said, I don’t think I’ve ever heard a version quite like this brand-new remix from Bassnectar.
Straight off the upcoming compilation album Verve Remixed: The First Ladies comes Lorin’s newest creation. It’s big, bad, boisterous, and oh-so bouncy—signature Bassnectar right here folks. A cascade of hi-hats, blaring horns, distorted synths, and 808 drums make this, in Bassnectar’s own words, “a nice, thick, summertime jam for your ears.”
You can grab the remix on Beatport now, and also make sure to check out the rest of the Verve Remixed album when it drops on iTunes July 9. The album includes other huge names in EDM such as Kaskade, Pretty Lights, Flume, Carnage, Zeds Dead, RAC, and more.
