Anjunadeep exhibits a very impressive level of discernment when hiring talent. A prime example is the duo known as Solarity. Made up of UK producers Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman, the two decided to join forces in 2008. Their slogan, Aggressive Progressive Evolution Revolution, rings true to the kind of banging progressive house tracks they produce. The pair has several DJ shows coming up, including one in London on August 29th and another Rekjavik on September 4th. Let’s take a look at what they have to offer.
Nothing else quite makes you dance and bang your head like Solarity’s uniquely strong and dark basslines. No matter how many times I’ve listened to their tracks over and over they always get me to pound my fist in the air. Terminal 6 has a massive first drop that just detonates any dancefloor. Diophantine has an especially catchy bassline that will have you scrambling to turn up the volume on your speakers. Red is an ambient track with possibly the most beautiful pads I have ever heard during a breakdown. Although it begins very calmly, it builds to an epic summit and floods your mind with some of the most minimal arpeggi I have ever heard. Perhaps their spectrum of sounds is their way of showing that they can produce surreal tracks with or without pounding basslines.
