Man has seen the future, and it is filthy. Hard hitting electro/dubstep group Back From The Future hasn’t been on the scene long, but they aren’t wasting any time sitting around. Formed only a few short months ago, the San Diego-based duo has scored a series of hits on the Hype Machine charts, and has received endorsements from some of the biggest names in the industry.
Their massive new remix of Ellie Goulding’s smash single Lights was retweeted by dubstep superstars Skrillex, 12th Planet, and even Goulding herself, who praised the group for their slick remixing and producing skills. This song has had numerous remixes, but BFTF’s take on the hit song is an absolute facemelter, with a drop that should destroy dancefloors. The boys also recently decided to add their wicked touch to Skrillex’ track Summit, the chilled-out progressive song off his Bangarang EP featuring, you guessed it, Ellie Goulding. The original track could best be described as a “gentle giant”–a soothing, mellow song just begging for a heavy remix, and the boys from SD don’t disappoint. Subtlety is the key here, as a growling bassline dances around Ellie’s fantastic vocals.
BackFromTheFuture is said to be finishing up the last couple tracks on their upcoming EP, so keep your eyes and ears open for that to drop soon. Until then, check out their SoundCloud page for a treasure trove of electro house and dubstep bangers.
