For their latest collaboration, Baauer and RL Grime brought fans on a free tour of their hollowed-out bass-cave sanctuary with a track that bears the name as their Summer 2013 tour: Infinite Daps.
Infinitely cavernous, Infinite Daps approaches with a steady snare drum before drops of water fall from the walls to the ground in a reverberated melody. As we venture deeper into the duo’s bassed-out hideout, pounding drums echo across wide expanses of synth and someone calling out from the other side.
The turnt-up trip into Infinite Daps territory is as dark and dangerous a track as we’d expect from these two trap travelers at the top of their game, and what better way to celebrate being on tour together than to make tunes on the bus? Embodying a larger concept, “Infinite Daps,” according to our guides, translates to “… a state of mind and a state of soul… It means pounding your fists with another gentleman to prove your solidarity infinitely.”
Fascinating culture, isn’t it?
The track is available for free for the next two days or so here, and after that, it’s available on the Dance (Red) Save Lives2 compilation here. Check out the new documentary THUMP made of the tour below.
