Axwell was all smiles last weekend when he returned to the thriving EDM hotspot of Los Angeles to play at the intimate Hollywood Palladium. The famous Swede opened his set at 1AM on Sunday, November 27th with Blake Jarrell’s huge mashup of Heart Is King and Losing My Religion by R.E.M. He effortlessly rocked plenty more mashups as well, including a new bootleg of his 2005 classic Together with his pal Sebastian Ingrosso mashed up with Alesso’s Nillionaire.
The proud member of the Swedish House Mafia also took the opportunity to test out his new Beatport chart-topping tecut of Michael Calfan’s Resurrection. The massive track lined up perfectly in sync with the Palladium’s clean sound and the endless energy emanating from the dancefloor. He continued to lay down more fresh sounds, including the hot upcoming collaboration Antidote with Knife Party and SHM. At the end of his performance just before closing with SHM’s 2009 hit Leave the World Behind, Axwell made a poignant statement, professing his love for the crowd and declaring “Let’s call it dancegiving. This is dancegiving from now on.”
