The recently revived Avicii has joined forces with Haitian singer Wyclef Jean in the fight against AIDS with a new collaboration titled Divine Sorrow.
Divine Sorrow features mostly minimal production from Avicii, with a brief buildup and burst of upbeat synth and pounding percussion, while Jean provides a driving guitar arrangement and soulful, heartfelt vocals. The uplifting pop anthem was recorded for (RED), an organization founded by Bono to help combat AIDS. The song comes as part of a month-long campaign, entitled Share The Sound Of An AIDS-Free Generation, that hopes to end the mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
Divine Sorrow is available for purchase on iTunes here, with a portion of the proceeds from each download going to charity. Avicii, (RED), and Coca-Cola are also running a promotional campaign that rewards donators with special incentives like autographed Avicii memorabilia and a chance to win trips to electronic music events around the world.
