Armin Van Buuren has teamed up with Heineken to promote “Dance More, Drink Slow,” a worldwide campaign designed to encourage responsible drinking on a night out. “Stay safe while drinking”-type campaigns are nothing new, and it makes perfect sense to involve a big-name DJ, but as far as we’re aware, this is a first.
The premise is that the better the DJ, the more time people spend dancing, rather than at the bar, with the aim to encourage dancing, rather than drinking, as the main focus on a night out. The concept is backed up by a new single from Armin, entitled Save My Night, with the video (seen below) showing the difference the DJ makes. It’s also backed up by another video, simply called The Experiment, seen here, which goes into more detail about how “The Experiment” works.
With alcohol-related incidents still a major issue at many clubs and festivals across the world, it’s very refreshing to see some big names take the lead and show young people that hitting the bar and getting drunk isn’t a wise way to spend your evening, as Armin makes clear: “Drinking responsibly is an important issue and being able to use music, specifically the Save My Night track, to innovatively deliver that message directly to fans on the dance floor is unique.”
