If you’ve been following my occasional posts about Myndset, then you already know how talented he is as a producer. He continues to blow my mind with his amazing originals, remixes, and bootlegs. His most recent mashup has seen a partnership with a fellow producer Austin Eterno. They met over the web after scoring the #1 and #2 spots on Hype Machine’s Mashups of 2010, respectively.
So, what happens when two superb underground beat scientists collaborate on a mashup? Well, you get an epic mashup of Britney Spears’ ‘Til the World Ends with Laidback Luke’s Timebomb–aptly named ‘Til the Timebomb Ends. They’ve engineered the two to fit quit well together. Laidback Luke, known for employing bootlegs and mashups in his own sets, would be crazy not to drop this one.
Myndset has also recently released two solo productions. His bootleg of Adele’s Rolling In The Dark flips the original beautiful vocals into a sexy tech house beat. Perhaps the best part of this song is its ability to remain simple with the synth but make a huge impact with the reworking of the vocal samples. The last song I want to talk about is Myndset’s remix of Adrian Lux’s Teenage Crime. This one infuses some electro griminess into the original, making it harder and even more booty-shaking. I love the first lyrical buildup into that sick drop. Oh, also, all these songs are available for FREE download on his SoundCloud. Enjoy
