No stranger to our site, Angger Dimas has turned many ears over the past couple of years with a string of uncompromisingly raw and gritty electro releases. Named one of our Top 10 Rising Producers earlier this year, Dimas has kept up to his potential with a huge 2011 finish, including a Beatport homepage feature of his latest EP, Kitchen. As the name would imply, Dimas clearly enjoys cookin’ up some hard electro.
EP title track and Work My Love get Dimas’ trademark tribal treatment, with slowdown moombahton breakdowns. This works especially well, as the tracks speed back up to their original BPMs near the end, creating an interesting house-moombahton conglomerate. The sounds in all the tracks are quite raw, including the third track on the EP Hey Freak!. Beware of the beyond-funky grooves and unexpected drops.
