Hospital Records has provided drum’n’bass fans with a steady diet of Logistics dating as far back as 2004. After three full-length LPs and a copious amount of EPs, the label is ready to serve up another helping of delectable d’n’b from the man that’s pummeled subwoofers with bass-enriched bangers like Together and Reality Checkpoint. Logistics’ newest tune, We Are One, is only a preview for the Cambridge native’s forthcoming album due out sometime in April, and if his previous LPs are any indication, his newest album should be an absolute rinse-out. Aside from the original mix, the We Are One EP features three remixes and a b-side. D’n’b heads will immediately gravitate to the Amen-fueled remix by Logistics along with his older brother and fellow label-mate Nu:Tone, collectively known as Nu:Logic. The remix features a time-stretched vocal sample and a bone-rattling, chopped-up Amen break that could resuscitate a dance floor on a Monday morning. Underneath the Amen break is a reese bassline that grits and growls, and only abates when the drum edits reach a fever pitch. The b-side of the EP, TImelapse, is a roller with a rhythmic, stabbing bassline, and a soulful vocal that injects just the right amount of liquid vibes into the track. Now all Logistics has to do is produce eight more tunes just like these two and he could score another d’n’b “Album of the Year” accolade!
