If I had to guess, I’d say that underground-gone-mainstream Afrojack is setting a precedent with his end-of-year grab-bag release, Lost & Found. He just dropped his second annual one, featuring some knick-knack tunes that don’t necessarily fit the current Afrojack image, but still bang incredibly hard in the clubs.
My favorite tune in the bundle is Montreal, a track that splits its drop up between a banging electro beat and a head-boppin’ house jam. Show Me Your Rage has the energy of a Bloody Beetroots track with the zany flare of classic Afrojack. Melodic and heavy, this tune shows Afrojack can still pump out hits as hard as anyone else. Last is Vancouver, which stands as an ode to his wacked out Dutch house roots and sports a really fun, bouncy beat. While these tunes might not fall along the lines of what Afrojack puts out on his label, Lost & Found is a healthy taste of what it’s like to see the man live.
