London’s enormous and imposing Alexandra Palace is so ingrained in popular culture it even has a silly nickname. “Ally Pally” has been host to live entertainment for over a century, is one of the oldest radio transmitters in the world, and offers stunning views across the capital, making it the perfect venue for Above & Beyond to celebrate a historic milestone and a much-anticipated homecoming.
ABGT050 will take place on Saturday, October 26th and will be one of Above & Beyond’s biggest live radio shows to date, as well as their only London date in 2013. While the big fifty may give good reason for the Group Therapy Radio brand to celebrate, it’s worth remembering that its predecessor, Trance Around The World, shared one number with it’s heir–TATW450 was ABGT001, making this the 500th Above & Beyond radio show, a stunning achievement.
Above & Beyond have come along way since the early years of TATW, which started in 2004 and was originally broadcast live from the Ministry of Sound studios. Very few radio shows or DJs can claim to have reached as many people as Above & Beyond, with over 30 million listeners each week and shows in nearly every country and continent on the planet. Nearly 10 years later though, there’s still nothing like home. London’s calling, and and you can be there too by registering for priority access to tickets now, with ticket sales starting on April 24th.
In the meantime, see the video below for a new look at the stories behind those who attended the first ABGT show in Bangalore, and enter to win an astounding experience at Above & Beyond’s residency in Las Vegas over the summer.
