ClekClekBoom is a label that doesn’t receive much attention from the mainstream media, even though its DJs and producers are constantly redefining the key aspects of bass music and the urban club scene in general. Over the last year, the label has released EPs from French Fries, Manaré, Chaos In The CBD, and many others, all of whom contributed to the first LP, titled Paris Club Music – Volume 1. It was available only as a double-vinyl for the first two weeks, containing seven of the newest tracks put forth from CCB’s artists; however, it can now be obtained digitally or on two CDs, with the second CD containing previously released singles which round out the collection.
French Fries presents us with round two of his innovative beat, Yo Vogue, originally released with a set of three remixes on dirtybird Records. This VIP takes a sinister turn just as it breaks, giving a glimpse into the direction in which this artist is headed. Coni’s new track, Missing You Nire, brings some light back into the club, whose dark, underground feel may often desire a ray or two of the sun.
